The 2022 session of the Missouri General Assembly will be kicking off in less than two weeks, and caucus leaders are already deciding on what their priorities will be for the year.
That’s why I hope you’ll sign the petition that we’ve prepared for you right away. As you’ll see, this petition urges the politicians in Jeff City to pass MOFC’s legislation, which will fix the problems with Missouri’s self-defense laws!
Afterall, if Mark and Patricia McCloskey could be indicted on multiple felony charges for the ‘crime’ of defending themselves against a mob of almost 500 people, it could happen to anyone.

That’s why the Missouri Firearms Coalition has been working with Senator Eric Burlison and Rep. Jered Taylor all summer on legislation that would overhaul Missouri’s Stand-Your-Ground law in a number of ways.
First, this legislation would provide criminal immunity to gun owners who use justifiable force to defend themselves, their loved ones, or a third party from a violent criminal attack.
Second, the bill would establish an enactment clause for Stand-Your-Ground law, so gun owners can invoke these protections BEFORE they are put through the misery of a criminal trial.
Third, we’ll be re-writing Missouri’s assault laws with this legislation, to make it clear that the justified threatened use of force is not a criminal action that Missourians can be drug into court for.
Fourth, this legislation will ensure that Missouri law protects gun owners who make good-faith mistakes in their use of force. Otherwise, you could go to jail for shooting a criminal who pulled a replica gun on you in a dark parking lot.
Once we pass this legislation into law, Missouri will have the best self-defense laws in the country. And with the explosion in violent crime taking place in our ‘blue’ cities, we need this law more than ever!

Kim Gardner will hate this new legislation; after all, it makes it harder for her to prosecute law abiding gun owners.
The Post-Dispatch and the rest of the fake news media elites here in Missouri will hate this legislation, too. They only care about defending criminals anyway.
And the radical leftists in Jefferson City will oppose this bill, of course, just like they opposed Constitutional Carry, Expanded Castle Doctrine, and the SAPA law we passed this year.
The question is whether or not the Republicans in Jefferson City will support this legislation, or if the moderates in the legislature can convince their caucuses that they’ve ‘done enough for gun owners.’
That’s why your State Representative and State Senator need to hear from you, today! Remind them that this is an election year, and you expect action on this legislation before they come around looking for votes and donations from you.
