Today marks the kick-off of the 103rd Missouri General Assembly, and boy, do we have our work cut out for us!
First off, a huge thanks to each one of you for what you did last year. You all stood firm; it made a hell of a difference, and vastly increased our chances of success over the next two years.
Now, let’s talk a little shop.
With Trump back in the White House and setting the standard for what you actually DO with political power, we’ve got a golden window to push for some real change here in Missouri, too.
There are a lot of things on the to-do list for the next two years, but none of them will happen unless your lawmakers hear from you on:
>>> Fixing the Second Amendment Preservation Act -– everyone knows the 8th Circuit struck down SAPA over issues they had with the preamble. While we disagree with their take, it’s a moot point.
All we need to do is remove the preamble and we’ll still have all the benefits of SAPA, without the section the court disagreed with.

>>> Enhancing Stand-Your-Ground law — our current laws have three issues. First, the law presumes we’re guilty and forces us to prove our innocence. Second, we can’t use Stand-Your-Ground until we’re appealing a conviction. Third, we can be arrested ‘just because.’
Our legislation would fix all three of those things!

Now it’s time to ban ‘Red Flags’ by requiring a court conviction before someone could have their firearms taken. Wyoming passed this last year, now it’s our turn!
