I don’t know about you, but I’m getting sick of this.
Last week, we reported to you that Republican Speaker of the House, Elijah Haahr, has announced that he will be pushing some form of gun control package next session.
If you missed that update, check your inbox for our update last Thursday.
But Speaker Haahr isn’t the only Republican who seems intent on caving under the pressure and betraying gun owners.
With the fight for gun control raging in Washington, D.C., it would be normal to expect Republican Senators from Missouri to be leading the charge against it.
But that’s not what’s happening.
In fact, a recent Politico article said that the White House has recently begun selling their new ‘expanded background check’ legislation.
According to the article, the first meeting that the Attorney General had as he works to sell this legislation was with Missouri’s freshman Senator, Josh Hawley.
While complete details are still emerging, the bill would permanently end all private sales that take place at gun shows from private sellers!
The bill would also create an entirely new class of people who can conduct background checks, known as ‘licensed transfer agents.’
The agents would not be allowed to sell firearms, but would be authorized to conduct background checks on all firearm sales.
Each of these proposals takes America that much closer to a universal gun registry system, where every single gun owner and every single firearm is entered into a federal database.
What’s more, these proposals won’t stop a single violent criminal who will simply bypass this system in the first place.
With gun owners being the deciding factor in Josh Hawley’s win over Claire McCaskill last year, you might think that Senator Hawley would strongly condemn this legislation.
But that is not the case.
After meeting with AG Barr, Hawley praised him, saying, “The Attorney General…it trying to be helpful. And I just want to say I’m very impressed with Attorney General Barr.”
Our White House sources tell us that the reason Hawley was approached first was because the White House thinks that if they can ‘flip’ Hawley on this bill — it will be easier to convince other Republicans to back this legislation.
Or, according to others, D.C. power brokers think that Senator Hawley is the most gullible Senator in Washington, D.C., and the most likely to roll over.
In either case, Senator Hawley needs to hear from you immediately.
Please take a moment to contact him using the information below, and tell him to STOP PLAYING GAMES WITH GUN CONTROL.
To make your voice heard, please:
- Call Senator Hawley at 202-224-6154.
(If you want, you can use the pre-written email that we have drafted for you below.)
Please take action right away!
If Senator Hawley rolls over and supports gun control, it’s clear that his weakness will be used to try to leverage other Republican Senators in ‘Red’ states into doing the same thing.
That’s why it’s urgent that you contact him right away!
And when you’re done, please become a member of the Missouri Firearms Coalition!
If you are already a member, please make a generous donation to help the Missouri Firearms Coalition FIGHT BACK!
Sincerely,
Dr. Curt Frazier

P.S. With the White House leaning on Senator Josh Hawley to agree to support a new background check bill, it’s critical that gun owners contact Hawley now!
Capitol sources tell us that Senator Hawley is a linchpin, and that if Hawley agrees to back this legislation, lobbyists in D.C. will use his support to leverage other undecided Republican Senators!
Hawley needs to know that we didn’t elect him to roll over and weaken our gun rights, and that we expect him to FIGHT for us.
Please contact him using the information above!
Senator Hawley,
With the fight for gun rights about to get underway in Washington, D.C., I wanted to make sure you remembered that gun owners didn’t send you to the Senate to broker any deals for us.
I want to be clear, I don’t want you to support mental health gun control.
I don’t want you to support expanded background checks.
And I don’t want you to support ‘Red Flag Gun Seizure’ legislation.
Frankly, I’m not sure why you haven’t been leading the charge FOR gun owners by sponsoring pro-gun bills like National Reciprocity legislation, as the best defense is always a strong offense.
I insist that you oppose any gun control bill that would come up for a vote in the Judiciary Committee or on the Senate floor.
The Missouri Firearms Coalition assures me that they will keep me informed of your actions as well as your inactions.
