Last week, Senate Bill 1212 passed the House by a vote of 59-28!
Last night, it passed the Senate by a vote of 33-9 and is now on the Governor’s desk. Insiders tell us the Governor is likely to sign the bill –- making Oklahoma the 14th Constitutional Carry state!
That’s right, this expansion of Second Amendment freedom is playing out in nearby Oklahoma, not Missouri.
Here in Missouri, as we enter what is likely the final days of the 2018 legislative session, Missouri lawmakers are refusing to advance legislation to end ‘Gun Free Zones.’
This, despite the fact that the Missouri legislature has not passed a gun bill in several years!
While state after state is expanding gun rights freedom, Missouri lawmakers are doing nothing.

You see, for years gun owners here in Missouri have been working to overturn the dozens of locations where we are disarmed due to silly ‘Gun Free Zones.’
And even though this bill has already passed the Select General Laws and the Rules Committee, House leadership has refused to put this bill on the floor for a full vote!
This lack of action has created a vacuum that gun grabbers have leaped through with both feet!
Their bill to overturn Missouri’s Constitutional Carry and Stand-Your-Ground laws was shot down, but only after a massive committee fight!
But gun grabbers in Jeff City are only getting bolder in their demands for gun control, as they sense legislative leaders running away from the 2nd Amendment issue in fear.
Pro-gun leaders in other states know that the best defense to our gun rights is a strong offense! Consider:
>>> Wyoming passed Stand-Your-Ground law, H.B. 168, less than 30 days after the Parkland, FL shooting.
>>> Oklahoma passed Constitutional Carry legislation, S.B. 1212, through the legislature this week and the Governor is expected to sign the bill into law.
>>> Kansas is working hard to pass Campus Carry legislation, H.B. 2789, which would give teachers and staff a chance to fight back against a school shooter!
What lawmakers in these states understand, that Missouri House leadership clearly doesn’t, is that there are no deals to be made with radical gun grabbers and the only response to their demands for gun control is to expand gun rights!
That’s why the Missouri legislature’s refusal to pass this bill, which has already cleared two separate House Committees, is simply unacceptable.
This is very simple.
Virtually every mass shooting over the last five years took place in what was supposed to be a ‘Gun Free Zone’ — places where you and I are defenseless against attack.
Here are just a few recent examples:
1. The Parkland, FL school shooting that left 17 dead;
2. The Las Vegas, NV concert shooting that left 58 dead;
3. The Sutherland, TX church shooting that left 28 dead.
I can go on and on.
The Navy Yard shooting, the Colorado theatre shooting, the SC Church shooting, the San Bernardino office complex shooting –- all of them occurred in ‘Gun Free Zones.’
It’s painfully obvious that the only people to benefit from these laws are madmen looking to kill as many people as they can -– knowing that in these ‘Gun Free Zones’ no one can fight back!
It’s time Missouri lawmakers stop playing games with the Second Amendment and pass this legislation once and for all.
