We have fantastic news to report!
Thanks to a flood of phone calls and emails from MOFC members, I am very pleased to report that the House Government Oversight Committee has just voted to approve HB-2118!
This bill now moves onto the House Rules Committee for further consideration.
As you remember, HB-2118 would plug the gaps in Missouri‘s self-defense laws by granting gun owners a presumption of innocence from the wake of a threatened — or an actual — use of force situation.
In other words, the government would have to prove you are guilty of a crime, as opposed to you having to prove that you are innocent.
Frankly, Missouri should have done this a long time ago. 16 other states — including blue states — have already enacted this legislation. It’s time that Missouri does the same thing.

HB-2118 provides for critical civil immunity protection as well.
After all, it’s bad enough being attacked on the street by a violent predator. Missourians should not have to worry about being bankrupted by that same thug ‘or his estate’ in a civil court action in the years that follow.
HB 2118 what do provide the same civil immunity protection that 24 other states already have across the country.
And finally, this bill provides for a pre-trial immunity hearing that would provide a way for gun owners to invoke these protections BEFORE having to spend 6, 12, or even 18 months in a very expensive criminal or civil court proceeding.
As you can see, HB 2118 would give Missouri some of the best self-defense laws in the country.
But that’s only if the House rules committee votes to approve this bill – – so send them your pre-written emails now!
