With the 2018 session of the Missouri General Assembly right around the corner, I’ve been up virtually all night putting the finishing touches on the Missouri Firearms Coalitions’ program strategy for the coming year.
But there’s something I have to tell you.
After the tragedies in Las Vegas and Texas in recent months, I’m afraid my hopes of focusing solely on tackling so-called “Gun Free Zones” and building on our past successes in the next session of the Missouri State Legislature are out the window.
Sensing that the political winds will be blowing their way in the 2018 election year, gun-grabbers in the Missouri General Assembly are considering a campaign to DESTROY the pro-gun reforms (Constitutional Carry and Stand-Your-Ground) you and I passed last year, and launch their own gun control attacks via referendum.
With the deep pockets of BILLIONAIRES like Michael Bloomberg and George Soros likely to bankroll this entire assault, I’m afraid it could very well succeed.
That’s why I’m facing an incredibly tough decision today — perhaps the toughest I’ve ever had to make since the creation of the Missouri Firearms Coalition, in fact.
So I need your advice.
As you’ll see below, I’ve prepared your special 2018 Missouri Firearms Coalition Membership Ballot with this email.
I’m counting on you to fill it out and submit it back to me IMMEDIATELY.
The truth is, without an IMMEDIATE influx of funds, I’m afraid I’m going to have to make major cuts in our 2018 programs.
Believe me, there’s nothing I would hate worse — especially with so much at stake.
And this referendum assault is not a threat we can easily dismiss.
Gun-grabbers know they have virtually no shot of passing anything through the State Legislature right now (unless another madman or ISIS terrorist wannabe goes on a rampage while the legislature is in session.)
But with the media elites pushing anti-gun hysteria, and flat-out lying about the facts, gun-grabbers believe they may well be able to DESTROY Constitutional Carry, Stand-Your-Ground, or perhaps even pass STATEWIDE GUN REGISTRATION under the guise of “Universal Background Checks.”
In fact, they’ve already launched similar successful attacks in Nevada, California and Washington.
In Maine, a referendum on registration was only narrowly defeated even after the State Legislature passed Constitutional Carry.
As the Gun Control Lobby becomes more emboldened about their prospects in the 2018 elections, the more likely this dangerous scenario becomes.
But before you do, please consider that sometimes the best defense is a good offense . . .
That’s why on the top of my list for 2018 was going to be passing a “Gun Free Zone” repeal bill for Missouri.
As we’ve seen from bloodbath after bloodbath over the past two decades, so-called “gun free zones” have absolutely NOTHING to do with keeping citizens safe from violence.
They just ensure killers never have to worry about running into someone who is armed.
The gun-grabbers know all of that.
But they don’t care.
And sadly, state law plays right into their hands.
Under state law, well over a dozen public and private entities — like churches, polling places, schools, hospitals, day cares and many restaurants — have already been established as entities where a killer never has to worry about running into a legally armed citizen.
ALL local government meetings are “gun free zones” too — except that ban doesn’t apply to government officials.
They can legally carry to defend themselves if they want.
Well, isn’t your life just as valuable as a government officials’?
Don’t our kids in day cares and schools across the state deserve better than for state law to leave our kids as waiting victims for the next madman?
In a day and age with ISIS-inspired cells lurking everywhere and hatred for those who still “cling to guns and religion” growing, isn’t it reasonable that someone attending a Sunday morning service at their local Christian church may want to be armed?
And with racial tensions running so high over the past few years, isn’t it reasonable that someone might want to protect themselves when they go vote — especially if they live somewhere that’s considered too “pro-cop” or otherwise unacceptable in this stifling age of political correctness?
Studies prove that guns help deter crime.
They make us safer.
If we’re ever going to stop mass shootings, eliminating “Gun Free Zones” is every bit as critical as the passage of Constitutional Carry and Stand-Your-Ground was.
But before you do, please don’t forget that 2018 is an absolutely critical election year.
Gun-grabbers in Missouri are desperate to DESTROY the momentum you and I have built for our gun rights.
You and I both know they’re not going to confine their 2018 efforts solely toward launching an anti-gun referendum.
Their goal is to pick up as many seats in Jefferson City as they possibly can.
With virtually everyone — from anti-gun media elites to political “experts” — claiming they have the momentum, you and I are going to have our hands full.
That’s why my goal is to go on the attack ahead of both the 2018 primaries and General Election to ensure that every anti-gun member of our General Assembly in BOTH parties is exposed.
As you may remember, BILLIONAIRE Michael Bloomberg is a former Republican.
While he certainly prefers to elect and reelect anti-gun Democrats whenever possible, he knows Republicans he can “work with” are sometimes even more valuable.
Then, he can sell even the most outrageous attacks to voters — with the help of his pals in the press — as “bipartisan common sense.”
That’s why you and I have to stay on red alert throughout 2018.
With your help, I’m prepared to use every tool at my disposal from mail and email, to social media, to hard-hitting radio, newspaper and even TV ads if I can raise the resources.
Such a program is going to be very expensive.
But it could not be more important — not with BILLIONAIRE gun-grabbers like Michael Bloomberg and George Soros looking for Midwestern states like Missouri to jump into with both feet.
I’m sure you can see why I’m so torn today — and why I can’t decide where I should seek to focus budget cuts should they become necessary.
The truth is, every option makes my stomach churn.
Perhaps you think stopping the gun-grabbers’ assaults is most important.
Perhaps you believe it’s worth the risk to hope that it takes care of itself and we should focus on repealing so-called “Gun Free Zones.”
Or perhaps you believe concentrating on the 2018 elections should be the Missouri Firearms Coalition’s top priority.
Whatever you decide, please mark your selection on your Membership Ballot.
And please agree to rush your most generous contribution to help cover the costs of these critical programs.
Of course, there is one more option.
It’s an option I’ve yet to mention because it will not be possible under any circumstances without a massive influx of resources.
But if you pick this option, please realize I’m going to need your most generous support — as much or even more than what you’ve been able to do in the past.
In fact, I hope you’ll consider a contribution of $100.
I know that’s a tremendous amount to ask for.
But as we head into the 2018 election year, there’s just so much at stake.
Of course, if $100 is just too much, please consider a contribution of $50 or at least $25.
Whatever you can give will make a difference.
