Now that Joe Biden has been sworn in as President, the national gun control organizations are whipping their members into a frenzy to insist on passage of their number one agenda item.
While there are literally dozens of gun control schemes that Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and Michael Bloomberg want to ram into law over the next two years — passage of ‘Universal Background Checks’ is at the top of their list.
Everytown for Gun Safety, Giffords PAC, and every other national gun control organization in the country have been using social media and email to mobilize their base behind this legislation for weeks.
You may recall that the House of Representatives passed this bill during the previous Congress (H.R. 8,) but the bill stalled in the Senate once President Trump said he would veto it if it got to his desk.
Of course, Joe Biden would love to sign this bill into law if it makes it to his desk, so we must stop this bill in Congress!
That’s why I hope you’ll send the pre-written email that we have prepared for you to Missouri’s Congressional delegation in D.C., insisting that they oppose this legislation. More on that below.
It’s essential that every single gun owner in America understands what the radical left is trying to do with this legislation, as there is nothing harmless about it.
‘Universal Background Check’ legislation has one primary purpose: to track, trace, and register every single gun owner in America, and facilitate the gun-grabbers ultimate goal of gun confiscation!
The second goal of this legislation is to make felons out of as many gun owners as possible. You see, if you transfer a firearm without first going through a NICS check, that would be a felony.
So, depending on the bill’s final language, if you want to pass a family heirloom firearm down to your grandson, he would have to submit to a government check first — or you would be facing a FELONY!
Of if your adult daughter moved out of your home and set up an apartment of her own, and you wanted to give her a Glock 19 for protection, she would have to submit to a government check first — or you would be facing a FELONY!
Even loaning a lifelong buddy a shotgun for a weekend hunting trip would require a government check first –- or you would be facing a FELONY!
Of course, the radical left in Congress and their friends in the leftist media are trying to browbeat gun owners into accepting this legislation without a fight, under the guise of stopping violent crime.
But that’s ridiculous.
The truth is that background checks haven’t stopped a single mass shooting over the last ten years. In fact, almost every single mass shooting in recent memory was carried out by a criminal who first passed a background check!
And no future criminal would be stopped from committing a crime should this legislation pass into law, either, as they would simply steal their firearms or get them from other criminals.
Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi know all of this, of course — they just don’t care. This is strictly about building a massive federal database of every gun owner in America!
But it’s even deeper than that.
These crazed leftists truly hate the Second Amendment and the tens of millions of gun owners across the country who stand up to defend it, because they know we stand between them and their goal of turning this great country into a socialist hellhole!
Nancy Pelosi has been waiting to pass this legislation for decades and will likely want to move this bill as quickly as possible!
But if gun owners stand together, we can defeat her and this legislation. Afterall, the Senate has a 50-50 split with more than a few Democratic Senators nervous about voting on a national gun registry.
And Nancy Pelosi is controlling the smallest House majority (222-211) that America has seen in 100 years. After losing a dozen members during the 2020 elections, the more moderate members of her conference are warning that passing this bill will cost them the chamber in 2022!
That’s why it’s essential that gun owners FLOOD the Capitol with emails against this legislation immediately, insisting that Senators Blunt and Hawley (along with your Congressmen) oppose this legislation.
