Listen up! The legislative session kicks off on January 8, and it’s time to strap on your boots and get ready for some serious action.
We fought like hell to win the election on November 5, and now it’s time to make dang sure those victories count for something in the statehouse.
The Missouri Firearms Coalition isn’t messing around. We’ve got four big priorities on our agenda:
- First off, we need to crush Bloomberg’s sneaky tactics. We’re pushing for Initiative Petition reform to stop those out-of-state billionaires from jamming gun control into our state constitution.
They think they can bypass the legislature? Naw, we’re gonna stop that.
- Next, we’ve got to fix the Second Amendment Preservation Act (SAPA). The 8th Circuit didn’t have an issue with the state sovereignty aspects of SAPA or its penalties.
They didn’t like some of the language in the preamble. We can clean that up, make it bulletproof, and keep our rights intact.
- Then, let’s enhance our Stand-Your-Ground law. We want to make it crystal clear that if you’re defending yourself, you’re presumed innocent after a shooting. And we’re going to ensure you can use Stand-Your-Ground in pretrial immunity hearings.
No one should have to prove their innocence when they were just protecting themselves!
- Last but definitely not least, we’re looking to ban ‘Red Flag Gun Seizures.’ Wyoming already did it in 2024, and Missouri needs to follow suit.
These laws are an attack on due process, and we won’t stand for it.
This session is our chance to make real change, to protect what’s rightfully ours, and to keep the anti-gun crowd at bay.
We’ve got the numbers, we’ve got the passion, and now we need your voices loud and clear in Jefferson City.
