With Joe Biden in the White House, radical gun-grabbers in Washington, D.C., and right here in Missouri are convinced that this will be their year to take a sledge-hammer to our freedoms.
And while these socialists want to pass dozens of gun control bills, ‘Red Flag Gun Seizures’ is always very high on their list, because it has a history of drawing bi-partisan support!
Rep. Ian Mackey, perhaps one of the most anti-gun legislators in the Capitol, has recently filed ‘Red Flag Gun Seizure’ legislation in the Missouri House (H.B. 126.)
‘Red Flag Gun Seizures’ are the ultimate dream of every gun grabber in Jeff City — the power to confiscate a gun owner’s firearms — without having to worry about arresting, charging, or convicting him of a crime in a court of law!
And that’s exactly what this bill would do: take guns away from people who have never been charged or convicted of anything in court!
For this reason, this legislation is much worse than a ban on the AR-15, it’s worse than a ban on a magazine or any other accessory, and it’s worse than universal background checks.
Please sign your petition against ‘Red Flag Gun Seizure’ laws immediately!
The details of this bill should leave you outraged, considering that it:
>>> Allows a gun owner to be stripped of his guns and any permits that he possesses, before being convicted of a crime;
>>> Allows the complaint against you to be filed in secret and the hearing that determines what happens to your gun rights to happen in secret, too, via ex-parte hearings;
>>> Allows almost anything to be used as evidence against you in these secret hearings, by allowing for “other evidence indicating an increased risk…”
I hope that you take action immediately!
Bills like this are filed because radical socialists like Ian Mackey are trying to gauge the resolve of the legislature, and of grassroots gun owners, to see if we will immediately oppose this or sit back and relax and do nothing.
And please don’t think that we are safe here in Missouri just because we have moderate Republicans in charge of the House and Senate.
It was sell-out Republicans in the Florida legislature who passed Red Flags into law in 2018, a bill that was signed by then-Governor Rick Scott, a Republican.
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, a Republican, and a large number of Republicans in Columbus have been pushing for ‘Red Flag Gun Seizures’ for years, only to be stopped by the members of Ohio Gun Owners, a group that my brother runs.
In Pennsylvania, Republicans are sponsoring the ‘Red Flag’ bills that have, so far, not been passed into law.
It’s the same story all over the place. Republicans passed ‘Red Flag Gun Seizures’ in Indiana, the Republican Governor in Arkansas is urging the legislature to pass them there, and we have seen very concerning statements from Iowa Republicans in the past regarding this legislation as well.
